Who doesn’t want to get out on the mighty Mississippi and enjoy some boating and fun? The Lake Cooper River Run takes you through our neck of the woods on the Mississippi River aka “Lake Cooper” or “Pool 19”.

Lake Cooper is a section of the Mississippi River located between Lock & Dam 19 in Keokuk, IA, and Hamilton, IL, as well as the Santa Fe Bridge connecting Fort Madison, IA, and Niota, IL. This area encompasses 30,466 acres of aquatic habitat. The Lake Cooper River Run is a route along the Mississippi River featuring six riverside bars and restaurants, two fuel stations, and remarkable attractions, including the world’s largest double-deck swing-span bridge, a new marina with 177 slips and a courtesy dock, fuel services, a top-notch bar and grill, the largest lock on the Mississippi River with a 38-foot lift, and scenic views of the Nauvoo Mormon Temple and Old Fort Madison.
