This summer, the Fort Madison Tourism Office find its home within the historic Santa Fe Depot, adding a touch of nostalgia to your visit. Located within the very baggage room that buzzed with activity during its prime, our office awaits your exploration. Step through the grand, towering doors that once welcomed carts laden with travelers' belongings in the early 19th century.

Within the baggage room, discover the Fort Madison Fire & Police Exhibit, boasting a diverse array of artifacts from various firehouses, police memorabilia, vintage photographs, and even antique fire hoses. Marvel at the centerpiece: the 1873 Fort Madison Fire Department's Silsby Pumper, which dutifully served for 50 years before its retirement in 1923.

This summer, make sure to pay us a visit at the tourism desk, located within the Santa Fe Depot Complex. And don't miss the chance to explore other neighboring North Lee County Historical Society Museums for an even deeper dive into the area's rich history.

Access to the baggage area is now easier than ever with the newly remodeled Fort Madison Amtrak station, where the Southwest Chief makes twice-daily stops on its journey between Chicago and Los Angeles. Plan your trip and join us for an unforgettable adventure through time at the Santa Fe Depot. All aboard!
